Adam’s Amazing 13 stone in 10 months weight loss story
I have another amazing weight loss story for you here. This one is from a lovely chap called Adam who shares how he went from in excess of 50 Pints of lager a week to running and helping others lose weight too.

Over to Adam to share his story with you, so grab a cuppa and sit back and prepare to be amazed!

Adam’s Weight Loss Story
I’ve struggled with my weight for the last twenty years progressively gaining weight. At the age of 20, I weighed around 15 stone and ballooned up to over 26 stone by the time I was forty.
I tried various diets over the years with moderate success. I always followed these plans on my own from home. I would lose 3-4 stone fairly quickly then come off the diet and put it all back on and some more in a matter of a few weeks or months.

Being a publican, my biggest downfall was lager drinking. In general, I would be drinking in excess of 50 pints a week. Working shifts meant that I ate fast food at the end of my shift, sometimes in the early hours of the morning. In that kind of job there often feels like there is no choice but quick fast food or convenience food.
I have always been active, playing football/rugby, then cycling and swimming but never really lost any weight through doing it. I guess the phrase that you can’t outrun your fork fits well here!

I took my son to watch the England rugby team play at Twickenham on Saturday, November 27th 2017. I was absolutely mortified with myself, I was struggling to climb the stairs to get to my seat and had to stop halfway to catch my breath. That for me was the turning point.
The following Monday morning I joined my local Slimming World group and never looked back. I embraced food optimising and only ate free food. I ditched lager completely swapping to gin and slimline tonic water. I only used my syns for this.

I lost 17 lbs in my first two weeks. I lost 9 stones in my first six months and then 12 stones within 8 months. After just 10 months of joining, I had lost half my body weight 13 stone 2lb. On average I used to lose 5 lbs a week and achieved Slimmer of the week 29 times! I was Slimmer of the month six times in those 10 months and the weight was literally just dropping off me.

I now exercise all the time going to the gym and running up to 10 miles at a time 2-3 times a week. Slimming World has totally changed my life. I believe in it so strongly that I have even become a consultant to help others to change their lives as I have. Of course, it is an ongoing challenge to keep the weight off but there is no way I want to go back to how I was.

Adam’s Weight Loss Tips
Of course when we read a story like Adam’s we are stunned and need some tips so I asked him what his top three tips would be for you guys. He suggested the following.
Fill up on free food with a focus on speed food. (For those who do not follow Slimming World this essentially means lots of home-cooked scratch meals with a focus on vegetables).
Don’t overdo the exercise, walking is sufficient.
Remember the more Syns you use the less weight you will lose.

Hello
My name is Renee. I have struggled my whole life with my weight.
I lose a bit then gain again. I eat healthy for a couple of weeks then over indulge. I struggle to keep on the right track and stay motivated. Alcohol is also my biggest issue
